Wisdom Comes Suddenly

I Had A Dream Last Night…

January 1st, 2012 · 8 Comments

I had this crazy dream last night that Greg took me to my favorite steakhouse for a fancy New Year’s Eve Dinner, and then threw me a surprise 40th birthday party at a private club downtown.  In this dream, I had absolutely NO idea he was planning party.  None.  Friends came from Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, family from Virginia, my family, my Indy friends, and all of my roomies from college were there, which is logistically impossible.  A longtime loyal reader of the blog drove down from the Michigan border to babysit her granddaughter so her children could attend! In dreams, anything is possible. I woke up in bliss, tears running down my cheeks, feeling so very, very loved.  So happy.  So excited to welcome my 40′s.  Happy 2012 everyone.  I hope your dreams are coming true too.

Your family can sure keep secrets. I was at your Mom’s all week and she never uttered a word about a surprise party…Course she was real busy preparing Christmas dinner.. Happy early birthday..and thanks for my present!!!!!

You so deserve it, Lori! Happy Early Birthday, and may 2012 and your 40th birthday bring you many more wonderful things, because that is what a wonderful person like you deserves!
Sorry we could not make it. With all that happened this year, I needed to be with my mom, my sister and my boys.

I thought of you all evening on New Year’s Eve. I knew you would be in pure bliss. How I wished I could have been there to see your surprised, joyful, tearful expression. I was there in spirit, sweet friend.

You were a profound source of light and hope in my 2011, and for that I am grateful.

Happy 40th, Lori. You wear it astonishingly well.

I was like a kid this AM when I woke up in INDY, first thing I asked ” Was Lori surprised”?
Being warned not to give this surprise away here or on face book…now I can more than “like” your postings…LOL
    Happy New Year
“We’ll still celebrate your birthday Feb 13th with more wine? right??

Oh, it was so stressful over the last two weeks to make sure I didn’t give it away! We had a great time! I’m so glad I could be there to celebrate your birthd……uh, I mean, New Year’s Eve with you. (In keeping the the Birthday Non-Acknowledgment Treaty of 1972, I hereby disavow any birthday-related activities last night.) Happy New Year!

Absolutely love it….the element of surprise, the celebration of a new decade, the love that you and Greg have for each other, and sharing an evening with your loved ones. The only thing keeping me from attending this party was the Pacific ocean! Hope to buy you a drink on my next trip back to Indy. In the meantime, cheers to a great 2012!
