Wisdom Comes Suddenly

What I like most about this picture is that it is entirely you, with every piece and part chosen by you, expressing the you that is you.  You live your life all the way to the edges, savoring every last second of each and every day.  You make no apologies for who you are.  You make no excuses.  You dress the part of a free-spirited artist in love with her iPod and art closet.

Sara Felice, I would never, not even in my childhood, have worn a bright green sweatshirt paired with a Cheetah print backpack while wearing hiking socks and tennis shoes. Not because it’s bad, but because it’s not me. I’ve been wearing plaid and pearls since I was 8. THIS…this picture is you. I love watching you choose your clothes.  I love watching you chat with your stylist about your hair.  I love how you sprinkle necklaces and hair clips throughout your room and backpack, therefore in case of a fashion emergency, you’ll be ready to accessorize. You are refreshing.  You are unexpected.  You are far more interesting than plaid and pearls.  Or…brighter anyway.

Eventually life will tell you to buy the beige purse, but I hope you don’t. I hope when I come for a visit in 20 years, there is a little dirt under your nails from the garden, a bit of a paint stain on your sweatpants, and random markers lying about.  Life will try very hard to push into the center of the bell curve.  Stay put.  Because Sara Felice, my sequined princess, you are right where you belong.

[{this moment} posts are inspired in part by a weekly Friday tradition by Amanda Soule on SoulemamaThey are meant to be wordless, but I think we all know that’s a lost cause here at WCS. Me, wordless.  HA! (that’s the sound of me choking on my frosted mini-wheats)]

Lydia, I dedicate the beige purse inspiration to you, obviously.

Robin, I am so glad you like this piece. The writing and I duked it out with my inspiration, and finally it came out as I intended. This one had some sweat involved. Or Theraflu…either way, it worked out. Thank you for commenting, and welcome to this space!!
