Sara recently learned the unfortunate lesson of “we don’t say no to Mommy”. The ever resourceful Duck had this to say:
S: Say no to Daddy?
M: No, you can’t say no to Daddy either.
S: Say no to Keway?
M: No, she’s too little. You can’t say no to Kelly.
S: Say no to Jack?
M: Well, yes. I guess you could say no to Jack.
Eyes lighting up like fireworks…
S: Say no to Sydney?
M: Yes, you can say no to Sydney.
And consider that can of worms officially opened.
Here are the daily commands of NO that I hear all day, every day:
S: WALK AWAY JACK! My do it myself! No, Jack, NO!
S: WALK AWAY SYDNEY! Stove is HOT! No, Sydney, NO!
S: WALK AWAY JACK! No play with my toys! No, Jack, NO!
Non-stop until I said,
M: Sara, please stop yelling at Jack. He can’t play with your toys. He doesn’t have any hands.
A huge moment of realization,
S: Sara HAS hands!
Finally we got a moment of peace and quiet. As if the cats have anything to live for now that the girls have completely taken over their entire existence. If they didn’t pounce on us at 3 am, they would get no attention at all! It’s really more than two cats should have to take.
One response to “Pecking Order”
Tomba and Sartorious feel their pain. Meows to them both from their feline commrades in VA!
