Making jello teaches the entire steam-liquid-solid paradigm, dissolution, shapes, color, and flavor.  And I thought it would be a boring play idea.  Sara LOVED making this watermelon jello and “attempting” to cut it into hearts and stars.  She loved it more when I topped it with whipped cream and sprinkles.
