We’ve now tried Story Time twice. It has yet to be a success, but I hang onto hope that Sara will someday sit still for a book reading in a public place. She’ll sit for several books here at home, but it’s far too distracting to read anywhere else. The Central Library holds the readings in the kids’ theatre, where there is plenty of room to play and crawl and climb. Kids Ink (great children’s bookstore on Illinois St) holds a reading twice a month at 9:30 am. The kids sit on a beautiful quilt, right in front of a Thomas the Train table! DISTRACTION!!! But they also do a craft, which is super cool. Despite the ADHD of the reading, Krista and Mary met us there, and we had a super fun time shopping in the bookstore. The girls had a blast!
