Another Top 10

  1. When you buy a toy with small parts, just go ahead and pick a piece and throw it away (aka dedicate it to the Toy Gods).  All toys are perpetually missing one part, so it’s better to choose which piece you’d like to lose.
  2. Kids only scratch their faces the day before pictures are to be taken.
  3. After having children, you will never again be able to watch a movie in which a parent or child dies.  You’ll have to spend eternity watching nothing but Adam Sandler or Ben Stiller comedies.
  4. I’m tired of picking snacks up off the floor.  From now on, at 7 am, I’m just going to sprinkle Teddy Grahams all over the house and wish these chickens luck.
  5. How many different shapes can my body be?  The fat roll I earned from pregnancy can actually roll anywhere from my abdomen down to my knees on any given day.  Wha’ the hell?
  6. Diaper coupons always expire the day before you run out to buy diapers.
  7. Babies love cat food.
  8. Even if you JUST emptied it, the diaper genie is full.  Always, always full.  Same goes true for the dishwasher and kids’ laundry hamper.
  9. I find myself wishing those stupid $1 rides at the mall earned some kind of frequent flier miles.  I’ve easily fed a year’s tuition at MIT into the carousel, 4 quarters at a time.
  10. I have no idea why God was so good to us by giving us Sara and Kelly.  I must have been Mother Theresa in another lifetime to have earned these tiny sparkles of perfection.

  1. I hear you on SOOOO many levels girl.
    1. Diapers actually mate and have children in my diaper genie, it’s a fact. It is NEVER empty.
    2. I have run the dishwasher 3 times today. How is that possible with only 1 child?
    3. Where is the 5th cookie for our plastic cookie jar? Did it run away? Did I eat it by mistake? No clue.
    4. My pregnancy roll likes to taunt me. Sometimes it’s up by my neck, other times down to my knees. And we’re not done having kids yet. Just think of what I will be able to do with it after another kid!
    5. Just like you, every day I wonder why God was so good to Mike and I, giving us our amazing little Katie Bear:) I know I wasn’t Mother Teresa in another life:)
Love your Top 10! Love you guys! Hope all is well in beautiful Indiana!!
    Love,
    Kara, Katie and Mike

  2. just wanted to say…love the top ten, very Red Gliders of you! and by the way, can’t wait to see everyone at the 1st birthday party!

  3. Just to let you know there is only 3 of us in this house and there are no young children. And I still run the dishwasher at least 3 times a day! Of course that maybe because I bake instead of do my homework to finish my last two weeks at BSU! have a wonderful SUMMER

  4. Thank you so much for the invite on the big adventure yesterday! It was uber fun! The blueberries were blow my mind delicious! I really didn’t expect a huge difference, but you were right, there is one. Since I’m working on my bargain shopping gene (and trying to learn from you and Greg) I’m thinking I should negotiate with Mass Ave toys and ask for a “one piece missing” discount. Why wait until I get home to lose the piece? Maybe they’ll just toss one to the back of the store and knock a few bucks off the price of the toy 🙂 See, even I can learn ingenious ways to save money when exposed to the right people! Good luck on your non-gooey meat negotiations!

  5. I was cleaning this afternoon, and found the “S” behind my refridge. Now all you have to do is take a ride to Connecticut. 🙂

  6. Hey, I have your “S,” but do you have our “H”?! Maybe between the two of us there is a whole set one day! 🙂 Can’t wait to see you soon! 🙂
