“You’ve a catchy turn of phrase” -Evita

Mommy: Sara, after you take your nap, do you want a little sugar (our word for candy)?

Sara: No.  I’m too tired for sugar.  I’ve had enough sugar today.

Mommy: You’re turning down sugar?  Oh heaven’s, I think we should dial 911.

After a successful trip the bathroom:

Sara: Mommy I’m going to poopy 1000 times!

Mommy: That would be great!

Sara: If I poopy 1000 times, will you give me a 1000 dollars?!

Mommy: Um…no.  But you can have a quarter.  I have one quarter in my pocket.

Sara:  OKAY!!!

On our way to bed WITHOUT Bear Blanket, which Sara lost after repeatedly swiping her sister in the head with it:

Sara: But I WAAAAANNNNTTT Bear Blanket!

Mommy:  I know Sara, but you hit Kelly with it after I asked you not to, so losing Bear Blanket was your consequence.  You had fair warning that he’d spend the night on top of the TV if you didn’t stop swiping Kelly.

Sara: I know, but….but…but….it’s just that I’ve been praying to get Bear Blanket back!!!

WHERE DOES SHE GET THIS STUFF???  I’m learning that the words, “it’s just that” are ALWAYS followed by a toddler rationalization of ridiculous proportions.
