As I unpacked the nativity scene, I introduced Sara to the entire crew. She especially loved cradling baby Jesus. When I showed her Mary, she said,
“OH! I KNOW! Mary Christmas! Mary Christmas Mommy!”
Later, when she didn’t make it to the bathroom in time (yet again), and I asked her why she didn’t take the time to stop playing in order to pee, she replied very matter of fact:
“I was running late for Quilting Class.”
After dinner, she gingerly opened her toy refrigerator to show me all the ornaments that “fell” off the tree today. There were 7. When I explained to her they were breakable and only for looking, not for touching, she quietly said into my ear,
“Then they shouldn’t look like toys.”
Perhaps a sign that I need to pick up the clothes and do some laundry:
“Why do pretend animals live IN clothes, but real animals live UNDER clothes?”

One response to “Sara Daily Funnies”
I’m so far behind on commenting I don’t even know where to start. First, I love Sara’s sense of humor. That girl is sassy! Second, I’ve been super happy to hear that you’ve found momentary peace and fulfillment – but I still think a solid plan for self-replenishment is in order. Third, I know exactly what you mean about the dish of nuts. I’ve been having the weirdest flashbacks to my childhood – spurred by the most unlikely things. Finally, I’m looking forward to another play date soon. What does your schedule look like next week?
