“Color Your Own” Crap Toys are a nice compromise between actual $1 crap toys and a true art project.  We get ours at JoAnn Fabrics where they have the usual “so right now in our pop culture” $1 section.  If I use a coupon, they are 50 cents.  Don’t worry, my kids have plenty of “normal” crap toys too.  I keep them sequestered in a basket in the pantry so that (a) they don’t infect the real toys with their crap-itis, and (b) I can secretly throw them away at night, one by one.  Shhhhh….
