Read Much?

I wish I could tell you some interesting story about where I’ve been all week, but it would be a fish story.  If I could lie, I would tell you that I flew to Paris to buy a hat that I really didn’t need.  Or maybe I took the slow train to San Fran because I was out of my favorite rice.  The truth is I followed 3 young ladies and the trail of destruction that follows their every move.  I then watched that nagging cold turn into Day #12 when I called my doctor, begging for relief from the fog, dizziness and nausea.  Ear infection, sinus infection…things that make caring for 3 children under the age of 5 a very SPECIAL adventure.

The good news is that the $1 dollar book sale at the Hatchette Book Distributor was a lot of fun.  I collected 194 books for Gifts Galore, leaving only 800 items out of 4000 left to buy.  I’m not a dog person, but I think “Indognito” HAS to be a big seller.

For our house, I bought everything from “The Silver Spoon” to Williams-Sonoma cookbooks.  I’m loving these two:

But by far, my favorite for the girls is “We Had a Picnic This Sunday Past”.  It’s my book of the summer.  A Grandmother takes her granddaughter to the family picnic where we learn that Aunt Martha’s pie is dry, but no one will tell her and it’s possible that she scares her oven into “baking bad”.  Funny, adorable book.

The girls favorite book is one I threw in my box on our way to the checkout.  It’s a little story about a bunny who wishes he could shrink his Mommy to fit into his pocket so that she could be with him always.  Oh gracious, my sweet precious precious baby girls.  Sometimes you earn your keep.
