If meeting my college roomies for dinner means Auntie Amanda and Daddy are going to take the girls to the pumpkin patch, take them on a hay ride, let them jump in a bounce house and pick out their own pumpkins, bring them home and help them carve them, and then eat pancakes for dinner….I just think maybe I should go out for dinner MORE OFTEN.
Auntie Amanda weekends are always met with such wild glee ’round these parts. There were birthday cake and presents, a Fall Festival full of pumpkin painting (where the girls painted their new jackets as well), a swell new game of finding knitting needles hidden in haystacks using tiny kid-sized rakes, me losing yet another Chili Cook-Off (keeps me humble), live music, a lovely family dinner at Binkleys’, Amanda’s first trip! through Mass Ave Toys, a stop for coffee, chocolate milk and Rice Krispie treats….like I said….GLEE. Giddy to the point of boiling over glee from two little girls who love, love, love their Godmother. My sister-in-law is such a special gal. She brings a suitcase of joy (and my mother-in-law’s awesome sugar cookies) with her wherever she goes. I’m always sad to see her head back to the airport. Come again soon Auntie Amanda! I’ll have cinnamon and apple sausage topped with brown-sugared apples with a side of apple cake waiting for you!!! Are you surviving your Indiana Apple Overdose Weekend?
