Homemade Play Dough

Both girls’ teachers make their own play dough.  How great can it be, thought Lori, the Great and Powerful Rookie Mom?  SO great, let me tell you.  So much smoother and easier to work with than commercial play dough.  The food coloring doesn’t rub off when you play with it, in case you were thinking it looks very, very green.

1 cup flour, 1/2 cup salt, 2 tsp cream of tartar…mix in a saucepan.  Add 1 cup water, 1 T salad oil, 10-15 drops of food coloring.  Stir over medium heat until it pulls away from the side of the pan.  Knead it when cooled and store in an air-tight container (I use freezer bags).  Kelly said my snow man with the hat was SCARY and she SMASHED IT.  I cried a little.
