An egg carton and a pile of different buttons will keep a 2 year old busy for a long, long time.  Kelly has stopped putting non-food items in her mouth, but I still sat with her while she played.  I’m so glad I did, because listening to her mutter to herself while she played was the highlight of my day: “Dis goes here, and dis goes dere.  I’m getting some work done.  I’m doing some good work.  I’m working!  Wait!  Dat is dere and it goes here.”
