We tried to watercolor coffee filters.  Our watercolors kind of…um…stink (you know what I’ll be buying next at the art supply store), so we moved onto regular paint.  It worked just as well, and they are pretty and delicate when they dry.  The girls loved painting on something other than plain paper. Word to the wise: if I do an activity WITH them, as opposed to doing something else NEAR them, they’ll do it for twice as long.  I’m not a painter, but because they love to paint so much, I keep trying.  They don’t seem to mind at all that I can only do trees and suns!
