Bag of Glass

This is one of my rookie “Unplay” of the Days.  One rainy Sunday we were buying marbles at the Dollar Store, and Sara spies these green decorative stones. The edges were smooth, so I let her get them, along with blue marbles.  The stones look choppy, but they are not.  Unless you break one, which might happen, if say, you let a 4  year old and a 2 year old play with them.  Think, Dan Akroyd, Saturday Night Live, trying to sell a “Bag of Broken Glass” as a child’s toy.  The girls have played a million games out of this basket, until today, when a rock broke, and Sara sliced her toe.  It was a tiny cut, but it bled horribly, and where was I?  Upstairs with Kelly.  There is now a trail of blood from my living room, up my stairs, and down the hallway.  By nightfall, the cut had almost healed, but I’ll be, once again, begging Greg for new flooring.  Which I’m sure we’ll get, right after I receive that “Mother of the Year Award”.
