Like Mother, Like Daughter

If you think I’m a bargain hunter, you should meet Sara.  She clips her OWN coupons.  We’ve been looking for what I call the “Buckaroo Bonzai” swing for a year.  It holds 2 kids who sit back and to back and swing.  But you know us: we don’t want to pay full price.  Oh heck, half price.  I let Sara read the Toys R Us ad on Sundays, and I worry that someday she’ll find out it’s an actual place.  Even if they were giving away Buckeroo Swings, I wouldn’t go there.  I guess you should never say never…but seriously…cannot STAND Toys R Us.  But that’s a soap box for another day.  Anyone know a good place to get swingset accessories a la carte?

  1. Are you going to the Whale of a Sale? Might try the big playground place off of 465 and Michigan Rd. I see it all the time when I go to the airport, but don’t know the name.
Also, I am on a hunt for a scooter with three wheels. But also don’t want to pay full price. Any ideas? Katherine loves the one she plays with at her day care and we got to borrow it over the weekend. Too fun!

  2. The three wheel scooters I’ve found at garage sales are usually in pretty good shape. Those are also at consignment store this time of year. Save yourself time and just call a few “Once Upon A Childs” before you go. I bought one to keep here for my niece, and I swear it looks better than our brand new one.

  3. Lori,
We have one & my hubby is rebuilding the playset… Let me check, but I do not think that he is putting it back on the set…
