The Momma: So this year, for the girls’ birthday party, I need to find tiny pith helmets, ridiculously large pom pom flowers made out of tissue paper, paper lanterns, and hey, while I’m thinking about it, can you shoot paper butterflies out of some kind of contraption into the air? Like LOTS of butterflies? Oh wait, don’t worry about the pom pom flowers…you know I’ll have to make those myself. Don’t even get me started on how no one makes truly interesting balloons.
Daddy: WHERE are you getting these ideas?
The Momma: Have you read “Angelina Ballerina’s Birthday” book to the girls?
Daddy: You’re designing their entire party around illustrations from a fictional book about a mouse?
The Momma: Yep.
Daddy: OK….here we go….and yes, I can shoot paper butterflies into the air, as many as you can make….
The Momma: AH-HA! I knew you were on board!

Oh, dear God, and so it begins.
You’re pretty cute if you think this was the beginning… After all, the last party ended nearly 11 months ago – we’re in deep around here.
