I’m not sure where Sara got the idea that one prays while pensively looking out the window (and in song), but she has been playing the “pray” game for a few days. All “prayer songs” end with a gentle “Amen” and vary wildly on topic, as you will witness below. You may have to turn up your volume to hear distinctly why Sara doesn’t want to be Ariel OR live in a zoo, and she cannot wait for “butterfly season”. With the Butterfly Birthday Party upon us, all things in this house are butterfly related, except for the ONE Martha Stewart Pom Pom hanging in the dining room (which looks NOTHING like Martha’s, reminding me why I dislike her crafts…my work usually pales in comparison to her examples)….but both girls gasped with delight upon seeing the quite lopsided yellow tissue paper mess suspended from the “not at all put back together” dining room, when they both said in unison, “OH MOMMY! It’s SO beautiful!” They proceeded to run to the kitchen table and tell me I’m the “bestest cook in the whole world!” Who knew oatmeal with honey and raisins could inspire such passion? And that’s what makes all of this living and trying and cutting and sewing and cooking and cleaning so very worth it. I wish I could tell you the day has continued as it started, but alas, the girls are once again grounded from television and rock and roll for disobeying the “no rolling around on the floors at the store” rule, and the “no jumping on your bed during naptime” rule, and the “no driving Mommy to drink at 2 pm” rule….OK, maybe I made that one up.
I’m terrible with video and you’ll hear me stifling a loud giggle, followed by a groan while Kelly breaks out in “London Bridge” for about the 1000x time that day. I hope you enjoy a rare look at us LIVE, FROM INDY…IT’S TUESDAY AFTERNOON! (Sorry, lame attempt at SNL humor).

Oh my, I can’t stop laughing. What a sweet and precious song/prayer.
May her aspirations to be a singer (and or a butterfly) come true. Amen. (which I just sang in my head instead of aloud.)
Oh, my gosh, I so needed this! I am here laughing my heart out!
hahahahahahahahaha!
OMG…this is sooo funny! I love it. I miss this age.
Take care
Precious!
