The Day After

What did 2 little girls do the day after their “bestest” (Sara’s new fave word, no matter how many times I correct her) birthday party?  They cuddled with Granddaddy on the couch and watched Donald Duck, of course.  It was perfectly wonderful and all flavors of lazy.  Sara got up for a bit to TEACH Grandmommy, Auntie Amanda, and me how to play a 72 card My Pretty Pony Memory Game.  It is an ugly thing, being beaten at Memory by your own 4 year old.  But you see, in our defense, here’s the thing: only a 4 year old could tell the difference between THAT MANY Pretty Ponies.  Auntie Amanda and I came up with some pretty wretched nicknames in a vain attempt to differentiate between a myriad of strikingly similar cards. Sara and I have played the game every day since, and I’m now convinced it was created not by Mattel, but by a bunch of drunk Frat boys playing a drinking game.  Seriously, Auntie Amanda, write in and tell me I’m wrong….

P.S. I am selling the Butterfly Birthday Party.  All remaining decorations can be bought for $40 plus shipping.  I can ship just about everything except the pom pom balls, which would crush, and the favors, which are gone.  The pinata is gone as well, but 150 feet of pristine pennant banner remains, along with glittery green butterflies, the butterflies on the kitchen light, all the mobiles (just trim the dates and add butterflies), and the fireplace garland (glue your own pictures right over the top of mine).  I think I have 5 polka dotted paper Chinese lanterns, along with some glittery butterflies not seen on the blog that decorated the basement stairwell.  I promise to squander your $40 on more crafting supplies!

  1. Auntie Amanda and Grandmommy writing in from Costa Rica about the damn “my little pony” game. Let’s just say that posing pony (originally named seductive pony, but Lori made us change that), paintbrush pony, purple pony, dollywood pony, and Alpha Phi pony all looked the EXACT same!!!!!! It was not a joke.

  2. Now Sara is saying paintbrush pony isn’t holding a paintbrush at all. She’s making me call it “sparkler pony” because, to her, clearly it’s holding a firecracker. What?!
