It’s so hard to believe that after 7 years of dating and almost 2 years of planning, in less than one week, Uncle Randy and Auntie Jess will be married, and packing for Tahiti….wait, I mean Fiji…or, um, Bali.  Those destinations all sound the same to old married people with small children who are constantly outgrowing their shoes.  Grandmommy made the girls’ flower girl dresses (in working mode here, before sashes were attached and hems finished). I am simply too chicken to make something for a wedding.  But Grandmommy could sew a wardrobe in a weekend with her hands tied behind her back.  I can prove it: look closely…those are the girls American Girl dolls wearing MATCHING flower girl dresses!

Am I nervous for them?  Worried about what shenanigans the Duck and Chick could pull?  Worried about how well they DON’T idle? OK, fine, I’m worried, I’ll say it.  But they’ve received a daily lecture for a month about how one behaves at a wedding, so at the very least, I’ve bored/parented them to tears.  Now if you’ll excuse me, the Easter shoes no longer fit, Kelly has put a run in her white tights, 10 new grays showed up on my head last night, I have some wedding cookies to cut…..
