Lost The Mum Argument Again…With Myself

This time, every year, I have the same argument with myself, “No, I am not putting in Mums.  They don’t last long.  It’s going to freeze soon.  Or not.  We never know.  I’ve spent enough money on flowers this year.  I’m tired of yard work…it’s time to wrap it up for the season.  NO.  No Mums!”

And then I pass some lovely display of brightly colored, beautifully healthy Mums.  I imagine the little pops of color in my 2nd story window boxes.  My house is brown brick with brown shutters and a brown door.  UGH.  It came that way; heavens knows I wouldn’t have made those choices. I’m addicted to annuals, allowing me add maximum color to my brown on brown on brown abode.

There you have it: every year, I lose this argument.  You can see my “staff” hard at work, putting the 8 tiny Mums in the window boxes.  Truth be told, every time I drive onto our street, they are the first thing I see.  So sunny. So cheerful.  So very…AUTUMN.
