A Great Daddy Gift Idea

Custom Silhouette Cuff-links from Le Papier Studio, artistry by Vana Chupp, silhouettes made from photos of Sara (left) and Kelly (right)

If you are looking for unique gifts this holiday season, you might want to check out Vana Chupp’s creations at her on-line store, Le Papier Studio.  Greg wears suits to work every day, so I decided to get him cuff-links for his birthday last June.  I contacted Vana, because while she has absolutely stunning silhouettes (which I guarantee you’ll want one of each), I thought it would be fun to put our girls on custom cuff-links.  It seemed implausible to make their pictures so tiny, but just look!  Vana did it!

To see how true-to-life these images are, here are the original photos I sent to Vana:

And here is the look on Greg’s face when he opened them on his birthday (no explanation needed, he knew exactly which photos I had chosen):

Vana was extraordinarily fast with email and really fun to work with.  As I started this blog this evening, I browsed her newest additions.  I didn’t get a single word typed before commenting to Greg the things I might like for my birthday. Why should boys have all the fun?  She has tote bags and necklaces and stationery and don’t get me started on her 2010 Holiday Collection….all the things Mommies love!  Do you remember when we had to go to the MALL to do our Christmas shopping?!  Ugh.  I’m sitting here in my favorite sweater, feet up, cup of hot peppermint and honey tea by my side.  No heavy coat and crowded parking lot required.  Happy Information Superhighway Shopping Everyone!

  1. Oh, this is so fun Lori!!! I am loving this idea as a possible Christmas gift for the Daddy who has everything AND has to wear a suit everyday to work! THANK YOU!

  2. Rachel,

Greg has worn his to death, and they look the same as the day I gave them to him. I’m thinking Grandparent gifts too! Talk about folks who have everything!

  3. Those cuff links are a wonderful gift and I am sure Greg loves wearing them as much as he enjoys showing off his “girls”.

I really do love the look of snow, the crispness, the clean look it gives things, the brightness in an otherwise dark and dreary day. I just hate the shoveling and driving in it. I have lived here all my life, you would think I would get used to it. Enjoy your holidays.
