The 100th day of school occurred, which, for some reason indiscernible to me, the entire Early Childhood wing at the girls’ school views as a holiday. The kids just go rootie-kazootie…it must be a math thing, clearly not following the unwritten rules of “Lori Math”. Sequential ain’t my game baby.
Sara had to draw a picture of herself “Today” and “At 100”. OH how funny are the things children subconsciously notice.
In both pictures the sun is shining, and her purple scribbles remain at her side. I can only assume that scribble is a secret wish for a dog. But let’s look at the differences, shall we? While she apparently gets taller, I think Sara’s legs are meant to represent spider veins; either that, or as she gets taller, her legs are going to become wavy. Unfortunately, at 100 years of age, Sara will be missing her left arm and both hands, and one leg will be shorter than the other. To compensate, the shorter leg will have a much larger foot.
The most obvious difference, and probably the most anatomically accurate, is that her entire chest will have moved into her hips by her 100th birthday. Wonderful. My 5 year old has already noticed that as a woman ages, her boobs gravitate towards widening hips, just hoping to find a place to sit. Well, Miss Observant, I’ve got some news for you: I observe that one of your purple dogs has croaked. Good luck finding another purple dog at your age.
In case I’m not around to say this on your 100th birthday: Happy Birthday Ducky! You look, um…AMAZING!

I love the loss of appendages, boobs, and a purple dog. But at least the sun still shines and she has her shoes on!! Way to go Sara.
I am laughing so hard you can probably hear a faint twang-ish laugh coming from The South. Your interpretation of Sara’s picture is HILARIOUS! I have seen a lot of 100 days of school come and go, but I must say that is one clever teacher to have the children draw themselves at age 100. Sara clearly doesn’t miss a thing. Love it!!! Thank you for giving me a nighty nighty smile, as always.
This cracked me up! Love it!
