As I enter into the final week before our 6th birthday bash, I have the same wish I have every year: I wish I could invite everyone. Literally. The RSVP’s pour in, and I feel the happiness building inside of me. I remember the great memories spanning the past 5 years. I anticipate the excitement of a new theme, new favors (the watercolor pencils above will be paired with journal books with the covers decorated in theme), but a familiar and comfortable format. I imagine our friends at the house, laughing and enjoying each others’ company. I don’t get so anxious that I cut off my fingers anymore. I’ve learned to plan for rain. I’ve learned that the A/C will break the night before the party during a 90 degree + heat wave. But alas, house parties have their limits…I cannot fit everyone. But I do wish for it. I might be the only Mommy in America who does not dread the annual birthday party. I just LOVE them. Surely someone makes a pill for this kind of crazy…
