{this moment}

Birthdays ’round these parts start in late July and go to mid-August.  We don’t come down from our cake high until Labor Day; pretty awesome stuff. A huge shout out to God for yesterday’s weather because Momma finally got to host her dream backyard party.  Get some rest…the pictures headed your way will wear you out.

Prayers for those killed or injured in last night’s tragedy at the Indiana State Fair.  We were on the back porch when the storm came, and it didn’t roll in, like an average storm.  One moment was a darkening sky, and in 1 second, we were scrambling to get inside the house.  High winds slammed into the back porch without warning, ripping down decorations and tossing the girls covered swing into the screen.  I heard it coming through the neighbor’s yard, and yelled for everyone to get inside, because these things happen in the Midwest.  Flat land offers no resistance to winds fronting a storm.  When 60 mph winds come through without rain, you just have no warning to take cover.
