I do not make party favors for CATS!
Sara has up and kissed a boy on the cheek and proposed marriage! Then she fibbed about the entire incident. Fibbing seems to be her new “thing”, which has been met with consequences. Kelly, wanting to get in on the action, covered up for her. Really?! My baby is headed to Juvie. Miss Kelly now clearly understands consequences as well. And wholly bejoley, you can see how poorly my cats obey the house rules. It’s mayhem at the Ranch people!
That corn is not for you! (But oh heavens, how CUTE is this kitten?)
To quote Kelly, “this whole house is on lockdown”. We haven’t seen a cartoon, movie, iPad game, or listened to Rock n Roll in DAYS. And the whole kissing and proposing debacle? She gets that from her Daddy. I call it the “flirt” gene, and it runs strong on his side of the family. My side? No game whatsoever.
Great…now I have a rock n roll loving, trend-setting flirty girl…I AM IN SO MUCH TROUBLE. I might just continue this lock down through Grad School…

Yet another reason I’m glad we had a boy.
My husband has that gene too! He was kissing in kindergarten!
If she fibbed about it, how on earth did you find out? That is my question! 😉
You and your ways of getting information!
And……if this is already happening with Sara, just IMAGINE when Kelly starts flirting and kissing! I hereby predict that starting in about 2 years, Kelly will never have fewer than 5 boyfriends at any given time, all of whom will be madly in love with her, and none of whom she will actually like!
Yes, how DID you find out?
The REAL story is that I talked to the Mom who Sara CLAIMED kissed the boy, telling her I was fairly certain Sara did it. The girl Sara threw under the bus was a very unlikely kissing suspect. Then I used my “I know the truth” eyes on Sara and she made a full confession. Then I told her that God gives Mommies a Super Power to detect lying.
Oh, goodness! I’m in a similar boat. M is in first grade and has had the biggest crush on a boy SIX YEARS OLDER for some time. Her dad and his dad are fire fighters and the two kids spend a lot of time at the station together. It’s so hard not to giggle when she’s talking about being sweet on him, but I sure don’t want to encourage anything. My rule is she can kiss her daddy, grandpa’s and boy cousins. All other boys are off limits until she’s 30.
Yes, Missy, YES. THIRTY. I agree!
We have lots and lots of issues with “fibbing” around these parts. Though it’s actually more what I would consider bald face lying. There seems to be nothing that can be done to deter this girl from it. You can take toys, do time out… nothing works! I even explained to her that when she lies, it makes it so I can’t trust her, and then I can’t let her do things anymore. She is a stubborn little girl, for sure. I wish you luck with the fibbing in your house.
