The Gifts War, The Window Year

If posting is light this week, it’s because it’s time for the Annual Gifts War.  For new readers, “The Gifts War” is actually called “Gifts Galore”, which is the Santa Shop at our school.  When we joined the school, Sara & Kelly were so tiny, they called it The Gifts War, and after I chaired the event (and purchased 4000 gifts), that particular nickname stuck at our house. I’m not chairing this year, but I am donating many hours in support of the current Chair, offering her oxygen, words of encouragement, and stopping myself from spiking the hot cider.  We’re helping 400 kids Christmas shop for their entire families….no judgements!

This year I was only in charge of the windows.  The kids get so excited that we have to protect all visual pathways between the kids and the gifts prior to the event.  They literally press against the door, salivating at the idea of shopping for their entire families for less than $5 bucks per gift.  It’s a bargain hunter’s paradise.  My upper wreaths are hard to see, but I’m happy with the overall “candles in the snowy window” theme.  I used paper, fake snow, and the new Cricut cartridges Auntie Amanda gave me as a Christmas present. I pulled every fake tree we have in front of the windows so you THINK you can see in, but when you peer through the snow…NOTHING!  You can’t see ANYTHING!  HA HA!
