Any Busy Sunday In December:

Greg: What do you need to get done today?

Me: Where do I start?  The list is so long.  I have some projects in the sewing room that HAVE to get done, so let me grab this clean load of towels on the way up.

A Minute Passes.

Me: GREG!  This linen closet is a WRECK.  Have we ever straightened it out in the 6 years we’ve lived here?

Greg: You know, it’s the one place we haven’t touched.  It has always been a mess.

Me: I’m just going to tackle this first…(sounds of grunting as I yank the entire contents of the closet onto the bathroom floor).

30 Minutes Later.

Me: GREG!  Can you help me problem solve the barrette/headband/ponytail issue that seems to overwhelm the girls’ bathroom?

Greg: That isn’t part of the linen closet.

Me: It will be when I’m done with it.

Greg: Why don’t you use a plastic drawer system?

Me: Great idea!  I have one in the garage…

Me: Well now.  Isn’t that dull?

(Sounds of Cricut, laminator, hot glue gun, etc, being pulled out of closets and drawers.)

1 hour later.

Greg: I’m taking the girls to Sam’s Club.  Do you need anything?

Me: I’m good!  Have fun!

1 hour later.

Me: Now that’s better!

Me: Much, much better!

Girls: OH MOMMY!  It’s perfect!  We love it!!

1 hour later.

Me: Fantastic!  A working linen closet!

Walking downstairs.

Me: Greg, wait until you see it!  It’s much better.  WAIT!  What time is it?  Where did the day go?

Greg: You just spent 4 hours creating a decorated drawer system which you put in a closet no one uses or will ever see.

Me: OH.  Right.  That is correct.  And I also destroyed the sewing room in order to clean out the linen closet.  Hmm, not my best trade-off.

Greg: But oh-so-very you.

Me: Also correct.  I forgot to get dressed again.  Ah!  Where do the days go?!
