Our Right Now

As always, I am inspired and centered by the writings of Amanda Soule at Soulemama, who regularly invites us to answer a question or follow a line of thought.  She has recently been focused on her family’s “right now”, which feels quite us as well.

Spring came early:

Indianapolis Museum of Art, drive to the Lilly House

And while I think we’re OK with the odd heat leaving, we’d wish for the colors to stay:

Entrance to our subdivision

Every spring I swear I’ll catch these trees before they turn, and this year, I made it with only a few hours to spare.  A hot day followed by a strong storm turned them green:

A driveway I pass every day as I enter our subdivision.  Someday, I’d like to drive under these trees, just to feel their canopy.

I’m fairly shocked at how fast his first year has passed.  Still curious.  Still loving.  Still ornery and ridiculously cuddly:

Cyrus, our only cat small enough to walk the porch planks.

We sure were grateful Ana Paula cleaned out her fancy craft room and made a goody bag of stamps and ink and papers and deliciously fun what-nots before work sent her over the ocean again.  Return safely Ana Paula.  I know some girls who would like to give you big hugs:

Speaking of crafting, I’m trying to focus on many, many undone projects.  Some which I promise will make more sense when completed:

This project is called “Mirror, Mirror On the Wall”, started 11 months ago.  Here’s praying I finish by summer.

With a long, long Spring Break started (we do a restful 2-week stretch), we decided some quality time (or days) spent in pj’s watching movies was in order:

And I’ve lost track of how many hours we’ve spent outside, enjoying the perpetual sun.  It seems the days are much longer this spring, because when I look at the clock, I’m stunned at how much time we can pass, just goofing off in our yard.  Kelly finished her Weather Unit at school, so these are my Cirrus Cloud Children:

They each had a different take on Cumulus Clouds, but equally correct, I think:

From my back porch, I’ve found I can take this picture 100x and never tire of it:

Of course, spending so much time on the porch this spring means I want to change the whole thing.  Again.  But like with all my projects, it’s sure to occur in pieces.  In the meantime, we’re all just waiting for Easter, and the hopes that the Bunny will bring a few surprise goodies.  This season is sure to bring Grandmommy our way for her annual Spring Break visit, and that has everyone in a good mood.

Where is this spring finding you?

  1. I am soooo glad they liked them. I picked them with care, thinking about their faces when they opened them!
They need to come here some day and pick some stuff themselves, afterall, I don’t have girls to leave this all to! 😉
    Love you all!
