Travelin’ Prayers

tired

I can’t thank you enough for the travelin’ prayers (anyone else hearing Billy Joel circa the mid-70’s in their heads?  just me?  moving on…). The mountains were messy and snowy, and the trip was LONG, but we made it home late last night in one piece.  Thank God for our dear friends in Columbus, Ohio who had a hot supper waiting for our tired backs.  Health returneth ever so slowly, and not nearly as fast as I’d like.  It seems winter illnesses drag on at a maddening pace, yes?

So I shall rise above the laundry and dirty floors soon enough, and return here to my favorite place. Oh hell.  You’re suspecting I’ll give up on the mopping and folding and start writing amidst the mess.  It’s like you know me. Hopefully the girls will unbreak soon.  They wept their tired little bodies to sleep last night, crying about missing their Aunties and Uncles and Grandparents and their 2nd life in Virginia. While most of that sadness was genuine, part of it was a sugar toxification arising from the ENTIRE BAG OF TRUFFLES they secretly inhaled on the way home. When Greg unpacked the car we found a lone truffle in what was once a full bag…oh crap.  That explains quite a lot about yesterday’s drive, actually…

Stay well.  Stay warm. Don’t eat entire bags of rich chocolate candies on a 12 hour journey. See you soon.
