Forget your political leanings for a moment. Forget Immigration, Abortion, Gay Marriage, The War, North Korea, the Economy, the Educational System, the unbalanced budget, the Debt Crisis, the Fiscal Cliff, Gun Control, Unemployment Numbers, Jay-Z smoking cigars in Cuba, Global Warming, the cost of sending flowers to Margaret Thatcher’s funeral (1-800 Flowers is a front for something evil, I am certain, because there is NO WAY roses should cost that much), the looming tax deadline, and Michelle Obama’s bangs.
Just take a break from it all for a moment, and DANCE. Celebrate America with all its inherent flaws. Celebrate our broken humanity. Celebrate what we have figured out, and what we don’t. Dance on the National Mall. Dance in front of the Capitol Building. Or dance where you are. This weekend, I wish for you peace of mind, presence of mind, and so much joy you feel the need to shake it, even when the music is only in your head.
[this moment posts are inspired by wordless Friday posts hosted every week at Soulemama. While I do not choose wordlessness, I do choose a picture which captures a feeling from the week which is worth remembering, and I am grateful for the invitation to share in Amanda Soule’s inspiration.]

Oh my goodness. I love you so. How do you put it so eloquently, yet so humorously? I will try to stop thinking about the bangs, but that’s asking a lot. You’re brilliant.
I just follow the pictures. You are too kind Rachel! I can’t wait to watch your year unfold!
