This week at the ranch? Has not been good. Very bad, very feverish, very ick-errific. Kelly spiked a wild fever Saturday night, and has yet to make it back to school. The night after the Strep culture, I knew it wasn’t Strep. Strep doesn’t send you into a steamy bathroom trying to overcome a croup-attack at 10 pm. Crap. Viral throat infection, Kelly’s speciality. Sara was kind enough to wait 5 days before catching it. As they lounged in bed today, covered in popsicles and sticky rice (their sick menus are always the same), Sara said, “Mommy? Will you hand me my stationery box? I think I will catch up on my correspondence.” Wait by the mailboxes folks, because you’all gettin’ a letter, correct spelling optional.
EXCEPT, Auntie Amanda. Sorry kiddo. I tried to get her to write you and Aaron a “Congratulations on the Engagement letter”, and according to the girls, “Children should not send engagement or marriage cards. Romance is gross, and that’s inappropriate.” Wow. I had no idea. They are aware that kissing was involved in Aaron’s romantic hot air balloon proposal, and they…are…grody’ed to the max. I’ve got kids hacking up major loogies on me while I’m sweating in the world’s stickiest bathroom…and guess what? Kissing is gross.
I’m blaming the fevers. Godspeed my friends. Godspeed.

Oh. Ugh. These congested chest things are the worst. My little guy has been lingering with one for – feels like weeks and weeks now. Here’s hoping the Mamas don’t get it!
