Unpacked at last, unpacked at last, praise God Almighty, we’re unpacked at last. We can close closet doors. We can get to our clothes without stepping over a myriad of boxes. Our belongings are done being picked up, set down, picked up again…moved again, somewhat randomly looking for a decent place to land.

It really didn’t take long to make this little apartment look like a tiny version of us. We hung a few pictures. We added some lamps. And voila! We’re home. The cats are completely unfazed. Sara is madly in love. With her new swim team, with the new commute, with running into friends every time we run an errand. Her smile shines all over us, and has been a tremendous boost.

Daddy and I might be still be a little whip-lashed from the last month, but I have turned the corner towards health, and we’re relieved to be so far into the moving process. On Friday evening, we drove 2.5 minutes (I’m not joking) to enjoy dinner with a group of very dear friends, and we came home so full of happiness and contentment regarding our decision to move. But Kelly? Kelly has clearly inherited the homesick gene from me. She is downright forlorn. Yesterday, she couldn’t take another step. I curled up with her weeping on my shoulder, and the 2 of us slept for hours, just hugging our way through the sadness.

I will not ask her to deny these feelings. It’s unhealthy to do so. I will not try to shoot sunshine into her pain. I’ve been in her shoes too many times to downplay how hard this must be for her. I’m not bully on change myself, so at least in this, I know the best method is to hug, and hug again. To allow her to grieve this loss, and walk carefully through to the other side. It will appear. Her pain will ease, and until then, Momma knows. Momma knows.

Thank you for the prayers last week. They covered me in a healing warmth, and I finally started sleeping again on Thursday. Amazing how that feels, so have been in such a fog, and to have it finally lift. I am in your debt. Godspeed my friends.
